The task ahead for head coach Dan Campbell and GM Brad Holmes is to build off last year’s 12-5 campaign to ensure that 2023 was not a fluke. The goal is to add a piece that will improve the Lions playoff odds via the team’s first-round pick at No. 29.
Here's a look at Detroit's NFL Draft odds.
Right now, we see Duke offensive lineman Graham Barton, Minnesota safety Tyler Nubin, and Alabama cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry as the favorites to be picked by Detroit, with the former listed at +500 and the latter two at +700.
Barton is a two-time All-ACC player and a 2023 second-team All-American at Duke. Barton appeared in 36 games in Durham, helping provide the help in the trenches that allowed the Blue Devils to win 17 games over the last two seasons.
Nubin is a fifth-year senior for the Golden Gophers, with 207 tackles, 13 interceptions and 4.5 tackles for loss in 48 college games. McKinstry had two interceptions to go with 93 tackles and 5.0 TFL during his three-year run with the Crimson Tide.
Other NCAA prospects to keep an eye on at No. 29 include Penn State EDGE Chop Robinson and South Carolina wideout Xavier Legette, who come in at +1000 apiece. Two edge defenders - Missouri's Darius Robinson and Georgia's Kamari Lassiter - round out the Motor City draft board at +1500 each.
